This section is an overview on using the tool without a prism. The tool can be utilized in a variety of ways with no prism.


First, with a sharpie marker mark out the "segmented height" values on the plumbing rod.



Next, find the length of the "x" value from rod tip to the "zero" value on plumbing rod. To find this lay the configuration on the ground and place a bar level at the zero mark, perpendicular to the plumbing rod. Take a tape measure and measure from rod tip to the bar level.



Begin inverting.



Measure from sharpie marked numbers to the invert location to get a "segmented height" value (For example, 4.7ft). At the end of inverting, add your "segmented height" value with your current "x" value to get an overall depth (For example, 4.7ft + 1.4ft = 6.1ft depth).

"Segmented height" + "x" = overall invert





Note: A bottom cap or bolt with washer is recommended for deep inverting.
