This section is an overview on using the tool without a prism. The tool can be utilized in a variety of ways with no prism.




Set desired configuration and begin inverting. While on a pipe invert, make a mark with a dry erase marker on the plumbing rod where the rod intersects the rim.




Next, measure the height of the probe rod with the help of a lath, pinched flush against the plumbing cube, and a tape measure. Take note of value.



Where invert is marked with dry erase marker, measure with tape measure from bottom of plumbing cube to this invert mark. Add this value with the probe rod height value for an overall invert depth.

(For example, a 4.7ft plum rod height + 1.4ft probe rod height = 6.1ft overall depth).
