This section is an overview on using the tool with a prism and total station. The tool can be utilized in a variety of ways with a prism and total station.





The overall configuration height can be found with a collector by staking out a known located manhole rim while the prism height is set to "0". Read the Cut/Fill value in stake out mode, set the found value as the prism height (for instance "8.15"), and then invert. Staking out a rim, photo examples:




Simply stakeout rim and record depth in the field book. Use a hand level along the vertical rod for plumbing purposes. Here is a diagram of a basic invert:




To get a pipe measure push the rod tip upward towards the inside upper lip. Simply stakeout rim and record depth differences between pipe invert and pipe upper lip. Here is a diagram of a pipe measure:
